Numbers, Amounts, and Fractions in Al-Morshid fil Hisab

Al-Morshid fil Hisab, the great work of Hassan bin Ali [Kashani] written in 691 AH, can be considered as one of the oldest Persian
dictionaries on accounting and istīfa (budgeting). This book is kept in the manuscripts section of the Islamic Consultative Assembly
Library (ICAL). Its registration number is 2154 and it contains 190 sheets (380 pages). The book is divided into two main parts
 taqrir» (math and calculus) and «tahrir» (budgeting). This research intends to survey the historical written form of the whole and
decimal amounts explained in pages 173177- of the said manuscript These pages have been compared with those of the following three manuscripts which are all educational resources of siāq (accounting) and bookkeeping in Timurid and Qajar eras: Falakiyyah, Forūqistn, and Bahr al-Javāhir fi Ilm od-Dafātir.
